HTH HEATECH INC.

COMPANY PROFILE

HISTORY

HTH Heatech Inc. is a Canadian (Federally chartered) company, which began operations in the spring of 1988, for the purpose of selling and servicing industrial boilers, burners, heaters, deaerators, economizers, waste heat boilers and boiler room related equipment. The head office is located in Calgary, Alberta, and the Eastern Regional office is located in Brossard, Quebec.

As President and founder of HTH Heatech Inc., John MacLean has responsibility for overall company operations, and personally supervises sales.

John was employed for 12 years by Delaval Turbine Canada where he sold and serviced pumps, compressors and steam turbines. In 1981 he joined Volcano Inc. as Western Regional Sales Manager, working out of the Calgary sales office, until he started HTH Heatech.

Heatech's management team has over 60 years of experience in all phases of our industry.

Heatech presently has 35 employees on staff.

MANUFACTURING AND FABRICATION

Heatech has an 11,500 sq ft. office and shop in Calgary where we assemble boiler and heater packages, assemble control panels and fuel trains, store parts, and perform light fabrication such as; ducting, stacks, skids, pipe spools and pressure vessels.

We have a Quality Assurance program, audited and approved by ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association). Our Q.C. manual is current through 2006 and registered with ABSA. Under this Q.C. manual Heatech manufactures pipe spools to ANSI B31.1 and ANSI B31.3, as well as Section I, IV, and VIII vessels. We can also manufacture CSA B51 miniature vessels and are authorized to repair ASME Section I, IV, and VIII boilers and heaters, and B31.1 or B31.3 piping in our shops or in the field.

Fabrication frequently includes structural steel skids and pipe supports. The skids are welded in Heatech's shop, and then we mount a heater (or boiler), pumps, expansion tank and other auxiliary equipment, and have a building assembled over all or part of the skid. In addition, Heatech assembles control panels and fuel trains, and we mount trims and instrumentation on boilers and heaters. The control panels are individually inspected, approved and labeled by CSA (Canadian Standards Association).

SERVICE

Heatech has five service technicians stationed in Calgary. Our primary function is startup, commissioning and warranty service of the products Heatech sells. The nature of Heatech's business is such that it would be virtually impossible to make sales without having the service backup.

Each of these technicians has an extensive background in burners, controls and boiler service.

Heatech also sells general boiler service to users of equipment similar to that which we sell. In addition, our service technicians assemble fuel trains and control panels, and do pipe fitting and instrumentation on packages that Heatech assembles in our shop. We have found that involving the technician in assembly in the shop is of tremendous benefit in reducing problems on startup when the equipment is shipped to the field.

Heatech tries to involve the technicians as early as possible on the project and get our input at the initial stage.

Heatech has a 24-hour emergency phone number (403-818-0606) for urgent service requirements.

SALES

Heatech represents numerous boiler, heater, burner, water treatment and damper manufacturers for various lines of products (see Slide Show), and our territory covers all of Canada and certain international areas selling directly through sales staff or agents. Servicing of products is handled from Calgary for Western Canada and Brossard for Eastern Canada.

Heatech purchases major components such as boilers, heaters and deaerators from our suppliers and we package this equipment with burners, boiler trims, control systems, ducting, fans, skids and other auxiliary equipment to offer single sourced packages to industrial and commercial end users. Heatech tries to add as much Canadian content as possible. Typically we can make our bids more competitive by adding Canadian content and value.

Depending on the size of the project, the packaging can either be performed in Heatech's Calgary shop or we will provide site supervision for field assembly.

Heatech also sells spare parts for the equipment that we sell, and we sell fuel trains, control systems, burner retrofits, and spare parts for similar equipment supplied by others.

HTH Heatech Inc. has sold well over 400 boilers and heaters, with order values ranging from $20,000.00 to $3,200,000.00.

Heatech sells the majority of our products in Canada, and we have installations in all Canadian provinces and territories. Sales are roughly divided 60/40 between Western and Eastern Canada.

HTH Heatech Inc. has installations in many parts of the world, such as Guyana, New Guinea, New Zealand, Syria, Pakistan, India, China, Russia, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Dubai, Taiwan, Jordan, and the United States.

Heatech has provided commissioning and warranty service on all of these installations.

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION

Pressure vessels, such as boilers, heaters and tanks that Heatech provides, are designed by the manufacturer in each and every instance. Heatech monitors the design and makes sure that fabrication is performed in accordance with the appropriate ASME Code, that a CRN (Canadian Registration Number) is issued, and that all of the Q.C. documentation is in place, and the vessel is properly stamped.

Structural skids and smoke stacks are designed by a professional engineer and drawings are provided with a Professional Engineer's stamp when required. The only exceptions would be very small lightweight skids and stacks where structural integrity and seismic loading is not an issue.

In accordance with ABSA regulations, pressure-piping systems over 1/2 m³ capacity are also designed and stamped by a professional engineer.

Heatech provides a complete drawing package for each project. Drawings are done on AutoCAD 2004, and may be transferred electronically, if preferred.

Each project is assigned to an individual Project Coordinator, who is responsible for all phases of the project in compliance with a formal procedure. The coordinator provides liaison between the manufacturers and the customer, monitors compliance with the project specification, ensures timely issuance and review of drawings, issues all sub vendor purchase orders, attends project meetings, establishes and monitors the project schedule, assembles the IOM manuals, and coordinates commissioning.
